Edit 29.09.2022:

I added an improved top cover with integrated buttons (no longer losing those tiny parts!), similar to the Prusa mk3s reset button.

Also added holes for LED where the LEDs actually are - the old one had a hole for viewing resistors…

Edit:

Added modified bottom part for M2 screws. I have no way of testing them right now, so I added versions with 1.75mm and 1.9mm diameter holes for ESP32 module

Needed a simple case for my ESP32 DevBoard and a way to mount it on my test rack.

There is literally 6 billions different ESP32 cases, and apparently each is for different board - cause there are 15 thousands different variants of ESP32 (give or take 7%).

I found a 3D model of the one I though looks identical to what I have and draw simple case for it in blender. Added canibalized DIN-Rail mount to the case. Links to sources below.

This is meant for the Joy-It ESP32 SBC-NodeMCU board. The dupont jumper wires can be plugged easily though the bottom holes, while still offering protection from accidental shorts.

Top case is snap fit, printed on prusa mk3s, it might not work out of the box if your printer has bigger print tolerances (either calibrate your printer or edit the mesh in blender).

I prepared M3 holes to secure the ESP32 to the bottom part, but:

  • M3 screws would squish the buttons on the ESP32
  • the top part seems to be holding the ESP32 tightly in place anyway.

@TODO - seems like the M3 mounting holes are not perfectly aligned with the holes in PCB. Need to correct this in future version
