Description
Playing with Blender 4.5 today and I'm loving the new Boolean functionality and how fast everything is. I made a skull shape from an ico sphere and then a jaw and then took it in a few different directions from a Nothic or Death's head beholder. Then I played around with a shrink-wrapped UV sphere on top of the skull creating kind of a skin around the skull and then made some variations of that. In this collection I've got a Nothic/cyclops skull, beholder skull, two humanoid skulls, skin covered variants of each of those and for the humanoid skull I made a pointy eared goblin and regular human. I kept with the grotesque versions here so they're like zombified or rotting flying heads but I really like this process and might use it some more.
I've got a bunch of curves all setup so I might make a medusa version and full beholder. Since this was an "AI Free" model I might circle back to my Skull Flier and Flameskulls as well to make handmade versions of those since it'd just be a matter of doing a Boolean operation to bring in those flame / scorpion tail features. Since I've made skull I also think I'd like to make a "post of skulls" prop. We'll see how this remixes down the road here.
For FDM printing I've added the 3mf file. Note that there is a flying platform and "tall" platform. The tall platform just raises the skull up a bit higher than a standard 32mm figure so it should seem a bit more imposing. The scale of the heads in the MM is set as medium but they are much much larger than a 32mm mini sized head.
For resin printing these are pretty simple models so auto supports should be fine!
