Description
This is a clip-on bracket for mounting a helping hands clamp from a soldering station to a Prusa I3 frame. It should fit the gooseneck flexible hose that comes with many helping hands soldering stations. I used mine with one that is no longer available, but there are some currently available on Amazon and Ebay for around $15 and they generally come with three or more arms. You can also probably find individual parts on sites like McMaster Carr.
It should work with a 10mm pipe fitting for a CNC gooseneck coolant hose. The hex measures about 9/16 and the major diameter of the thread is about 3/8 or 10mm. There is just enough room under the first joint that the fitting should slide in with some force and be snug in the socket. (See pics for details)
(I will return to edit this at a later date when I have more information on the pipe fitting.)
There are two bracket models based on the hardware. It uses either two M3x10 or two M3x18 socket head cap screws and two M3nS nuts. These come with the Prusa Mk3S and Mk4S kits so you should have some spares around. If not, they are relatively cheap. Choose the model based on the length of screw you have lying around.
The clamp plate was designed to work with either model.
I use this mostly for holding the end of a spool when performing filament changes or clipping the ends to fit into the extruder inlet, but the possibilities are endless! Remix as you please!
