Description
This handle is a replacement for the 1.5L Bodum tea pot handle. It is made to be fixed in place with a single M4 screw and an M4 captive nut. This also makes the design able to accommodate slight variations in the diameter as the screw gap accommodates the gap.
The handle is designed to also contact at the base so there is less torque at the top. Also, it should have height as the pot so that it can rest on whichever surface the pot is on.
Because the pot will (likely) be used with hot water it is important to print the model in a high-temperature filament. I used Polymaker PolyLite ASA which advertices a heat deflection temperature of about 100C, and this has worked well across several months of use. Take care to select a filament with similar or better temperature performance.
The model is designed with an inner diameter of 14 cm. If you have a cylindrical pot of different dimension, then you can probably rescale the model for whichever size you need.
If you need to make more extensive changes to the design, you can either remix from the attached STEP file or use the original CAD drawing from Onshape: Link. Please still leave a comment, make, or remix so that I know that my design was useful to someone :)
Enjoy!
