Description
I wanted to see how and if this design would work with 3D filament as the original design in stainless steel was so eye catching and clever. I intended to make it for personal use and use it in my commercial kitchen operations for holding food container labelling tape (ie masking/painters tape). I was reluctant to post though as it would seem like a knockoff-copy cat design and while it stays as true to the original as I can figured based on photos, I would like to think people seeing this will also consider purchasing the “real version” or at least visiting their site for other novel designs.
This was also a learning experience for me in Fusion360, so I'm sure there are more elegant ways of designing this but for me this worked. I've included all the file types i can think of to allow others to modify as needed. it is scaled to fit 2" tape or 2 rolls of 1": tape (52mm wide opening). I printed my prototype in PLA with 4 walls and like 25% gyroid infill for rigidity and it does work although a stiffer filament (PETG or maybe a CF-variant) would probably work even better as the less flex, the better. I also printed with 0.16mm layer height to gain better fidelity to the serrated edge as designed, which allows for easier tape cutting. welcome your feedback on the execution of this design, and/or my decision to post it at all. Not sure what the ethics are around this kind of thing, but I genuinely do not want to detract from the original design.
