Description
A parametric case for standard 1/4″ hex bits, designed for practicality and flexibility.
The main case is print-in-place and uses 4 mm DIA × 1.5 mm or 3 mm thick magnets to keep it securely closed. The spring tabs in each row hold the bits in place—no more bits falling out, yet they’re still easy to remove when needed.
Because the design is fully parametric, you can adjust the NoSlots and NoRows parameters to create a case size that suits your exact needs—whether you just need a few bits or a full workshop set. I've included the example I printed for my kit (4x9) but also several x8 and x10 options.
You can open and edit the design directly in Onshape here: Onshape Parametric Hex Bit Case.
Print Notes:
The rows are printed flat with the retention tab facing down for best results.
No supports needed.
Works well in PETG, ABS, or tough PLA for flexible spring tabs.
If you’re looking for individual spring-tab bit holders for driver bits with 9.5 mm and 14 mm anvils, check out my related model here
