Description
with just a hub motor and a cheap controller and electronics you can make an electrically locomoted bicycle!
Right now it works with rubber-on-rubber contact, however I am currently working on attaching gears and using a chain! Its powered with 6x4Ah 20V parkside powertools batteries in 2P3S config. Peak power draw going up a steep hill with no manual assist it pulls +/- 700watts however average consumption is more lik e+/- 200watts. Surprisingly it didn't explode! it rides quite well if dry, any wetness introduce slippage.
Everything is printed with PETG, it works but I printed almost everything with 100% perimeters so its super heavy. If I were to redo it I would pick ABS or ASA since its almost 20% less dense than PETG.
the seat bike box is my design but has its own posting on my profile, the battery holders are not my design and its temporary. I will make my own more integrated design.
I would truly appreciate if you would like and/or add to collection, this passion project is my first home made CAD intensive adventure. I learned so much about mechanics, electronics, motors, design, prototyping and much more.
