Updates:
12-NOV-2025: added m3 and m3 heatset versions of the front face, to help our poor IS graphs with a third mounting point for the fan cages. Standard voron-style short heatsets, 4.22mm holes for 4.5mm inserts.
For the final public CAD release only, which used to be called “experimental.” If you're running experimental branch parts, this is for you.
Water test:
I've been given the go-ahead to release this. It's the once-unfinished 5020 fan version of the archetype. The original Archetype was created by Leddhead, and this was left in an 85% completed state for a long while. Now that Archetype is finalizing, I was given permission to complete this version and post it for sharing.
The fan it was based around originally isn't in stock that I could find available to ship to the US, so there's need to trim clips and clip off excess screw hole plastic, but it does work.
Some of the photos are of a SLM version, but it works printed as well. I ran the printed cages for a dozen hours or so before my SLM variants arrived in the mail.
This toolhead is meant to be paired with a short hotend only. This fan configuration cannot be used with medium or long hotends.
RIP your doors, it juts out 80mm from the face of the linear rail. Included is an abomination of a breakneck sherpa mini mod (v3 K-face compatible only at this time) that clears the gigantic fans, and itself houses two m3x16 flathead screws for strength (I've had one breakneck adapter snap in half from pressure on the filament when I was doing flow testing).
Calling it the Archetype usermod: Gravity, after the gravity suit in Metroid (also it's pretty hefty when SLM'd)
