Description
Voron Hepa Filter Revisited plus AFC-Bypass Mod for Voron Trident 350 (and probably others)
This is a combined Project remixing:
https://www.printables.com/model/381011-voron-24-hepa-filter
which is a Remix of https://github.com/VoronDesign/Voron-2/tree/Voron2.4/STLs/Exhaust_Filterand:
https://github.com/ArmoredTurtle/AFC-Accessories/tree/main/AFC_Bypass
Why (Hepa Filter Revisited):
I searched a lot and did not find a really matching Solution to have a Exhaust Fan with Hepa-Filter and activated Carbon that matches my Voron Trident 350.
The Design from jmillerfo @jmillerfo_84104 did match at best, but:
- The inner Tray was only one Part which would restrict the Airfrlow through the activated Carbon, also it did not really fit after printing.
- There was no Cable-Path for the Fan-Cable
- The 2020 Mount is something i dont understand how it should work
- There was no Option to have a direct Mount Option to the Plexiglass (i dont like the Need to use double sided Adhesive Tape to mount the Filter)
- There was only a straight Bowden-Tube Path in the Original Design - no Option for Left or Right Bowden Pathway
What (Hepa Filter Revisited):
+ I modified the Tray to be 2 Parts fitted together with 6x3mm Magnets
+ I modified the Lid to attach a 5x3mm PU Sealing Tape for better Airflow Restriction (through the activated Carbon)
+ The Filter Housing does now have Pathways on left, right and Back which are closed by Default (use a 4mm Drill to open the one you need)
+ The Filter Housing does now have M3 Heat-Set Inserts on Top for the Mounting Bracket which results in a sturdy mount
+ The Filter Housing does now have flat Sides and M3 Heat-Set Inserts in the Area of the left and right Bowden Exits as Mounting Options for optional Parts
+ Left and Right Bowden Exit uses ECAS04 Inserts (if you are using the Filament Bypass, please dont insert a ECAS04)
+ There is a Slot for a 4mm Screwdriver to have the Option to remove a set ECAS04 if needed
+ I added a Cable Path for the 60mm Exhaust Fan (a Slot on the Outside of the Filter and a 10mm Hole in the Back, ment to be drilled through the Plexiglass
+ I added a printable drill Marking Guide for the additional Holes through the Plexiglass
+ The Filter Housing is designed to be mounted with M3 Screws through the Plexiglass and the upper Mounting Bracket, having 5x1.5mm PU Sealing Foam Tape on the Back between Filter Housing and Plexiglass
+ In the FreeCAD Files you will find Spreadsheets which you can adapt to your Needs (different Cutouts, different Plexi Thickness, etc).
- Please keep in Mind that i am no CAD Pro, i am stumbling around and learning by doing - i cant give any Support or Help!
Why (AFC-Bypass Mod):
- The Original Design does have to sharp Bends which results in high Friction when using the Bypass Path (it is to short)
- I wanted the Design to match Hepa Filter Revisited and mount it on the most top 2020 Extrusion of my Voron Trident 350
what (AFC-Bypass Mod):
+ I redrawed the whole AFC-Bypass in FreeCAD
+ The Filament Path is now way longer to have smoother Angles and low Friction
+ I added a 2020 Extrusion Mount and more Recesses for Cable Ties
+ If you fit PU Sealing Foam Tape on the Backside of the Mount it also is of use to tighten the Plexiglass down
