Description
Is your extruder constantly getting clogged?
Creality silently updated some of their printers to included square shaped vents on the sides of the toolhead carriage to help combat heat creep. Some printers are missing these, contributing toward excessive heat buildup in the extruder and greatly increasing the chances of print failure.
These templates show you where to safely cut or drill to add ventilation to your toolhead carriage. Simply remove your extruder and place them on top of the carriage. Cut inside the square using a drill and clean it up with a file, or just use a rotary tool. Place a towel or newspaper underneath to avoid making a mess.
Do not cut outside the square - this will compromise the structural integrity of the heat set inserts which allow the belts to mount to the carriage via clips.
You do not need to completely disassemble the toolhead cover - Just remove the extruder so you don't accidentally drill into it.
