Description
This is a storage tray for a drill bit set with a tray below to put your spares. The small ones break fairly regularly so it's nice to have those on-hand replacements. It is also a nice convenient place to put my hole index gauge so I can actually find it. The bottom tray is nothing fancy, just a generated tray with thin walls from gridfinitygenerator.com, but it is sized to fit with the top tray and the whole thing fits in the storage drawer on my workbench, and I can still close the drawer.
They should just sit nicely together--I didn't want any kind of friction fit so the drill bits would stay put if you needed to access the bottom spares tray. You can't use the top tray by itself, currently. Maybe I'll make one in the future if I need to.
I included the bottom tray for simplicity but IT IS NOT MY CREATION (gridfinitygenerator.com). The top bit tray may work with any existing 4x3 tray you currently have. The gridfinity settings for it are: grid 42mm, x4, y4, z2 (18.4mm), Thin Lip, OW Thickness 1mm, IW Thickness .8mm.
I used a label maker to put the numbers on; I opted not to do the printed raised/embossed lettering of a different color. Looks really cool but not really all that clear to read, especially with a .6 nozzle and I am way too lazy to change a nozzle for some letters. Hopefully they stick in the long term, otherwise it's the sharpie treatment…
