Description
I have a Citroen C3 Picasso which has no smart spot for a mobile phone holder. But it has, like many other (French) cars, a slot for toll road tickets. This ticket is completely useless in my country so I harnessed it as a base for my mobile phone holder.
The base fits perfectly and is very sturdy. Print it, glue it together (glueing actually makes a lot more durable), stick it in the slot and enjoy a solid base for your phone holder!
There are two versions.
Instructions:
1. Print all three files. The jig is very basic but helps to align the parts while glueing
2. Glue the top and bottom parts together with super glue. Use glue very sparcely. I noticed that if i put a too thick layer of glue, the parts will not go together, but there will be an airgap. Tip! Tighten the phone holder in place directly after glueing to get a good compression while curing
3. Put the holder in the card slot and enjoy! The last millimeters are a bit tight but they go all the way in. This creates a very good and un-wobbly contact.
And remember! This part will be in a very hot car during summer. PLA will probably melt or bend. I will make my final version in PC and hope it is heat resistant enough.
