Description

CURRENTLY IN BETA PHASE:

The current focus is on testing how well the frame fits onto the base. (The frame has a rounded underside, which I would like to retain as a design feature. However, this makes it somewhat challenging to design the frame in such a way that it can be easily attached and removed.
This is much easier with case 2, as the frame is open at the base mounting point.
Feel free to leave me your installation experience in Discord – it's normal that it's a little more difficult to install than the official GM case due to the smaller case, but the installation shouldn't be too difficult.

USE WIDER FRAME FIRST!

***Before pushing the display into the housing, please make sure that the flat cable is centered over the cut-out***

Housing 2 is the housing I personally recommend most for the LILYGO T-RGB, 2.1 inch, as it is the easiest to install, protects the display with its frame and I offer holder widths from 1.4 mm to 2.4 mm for it.

How to install (no gluing or soldering necessary)

USE WIDER FRAME FIRST!
Before installation, it is best to assemble everything once without the display to test the functionality and then practice the installation with the display without the machine.

  1. make sure that the cable for the display is as long as possible
  2. feed the cable through the BASE from behind
  3. place the base on the coffee machine
  4. insert the display into the FRAME. The display is easiest to insert at a slight angle through the front of the FRAME.
  5. plug the cable into the display
  6. place the display in the BASE with the plug on the side and the ribbon cable pointing downwards.
Tip: The longer the cable, the easier this step is.
  7. there is a small lug on the underside of the BASE, which must match the notch on the FRAME
  8. when the display is correctly positioned in the BASE, press the FRAME down.

How to print

  • Base
    • It is best to print at a 45 degree angle without supports (Warnings due to floating regions can be ignored).
    • Or: If there are adhesion problems, the housing can also be printed flat on the back, but then supports should be activated.
  • Frame
    • No supports
