UPDATED! - Inset Letters that fit nicely in the backplate recesses. See ATKLogo-Bevel-Updated-Inset-Letters.3mf
I have a 1994 ATK 604 ESDS that needs a logo on it's fuel tank. I have an OEM sticker, but don't really want to put that on it, so trying this idea. I may use vinyl for inlaying instead of paint, we'll see how it goes! UPDATE - it didn't go well with the vinyl I used - bubbled/lifted up, so I put the time in to get the inset lettering right.
Original colors were Red, Black, Blue if on a white background and Red, White, Blue if on Black/Darker background.
In the 1994 brochure, the tank decal looked like this:
In actuality it would have been delivered with this design, which I am not particularly fond of:
These original style decals can still be purchased from American Dirt Bike: www.americandirtbike.com
Scaled to be pretty close to the right size of the original decal, it's not noticably different. Tank decal lettering isn't ‘exactly’ like all other ATK logos of this style used, so this is “more” correct anyway.
Now to figure out what to adhere it with to the polyethelyne tank… UPDATE: DAP Rapidfuse allegedly…
Also adding a DUNLOP for the swingarm, same concept - WIP.
