Description
The original design using ABS/PLA filament for the hinges and works great until the filament eventually breaks. This version uses Stainless Steel spring wires for hinges, and the arms are thickened for longevity.
I have also included the Fusion360 drawing. This model is built with Parametric design in mind and can be customized to your liking as follows; the dimensions in parentheses are the defaults:
Pin_dia (2 mm) - The holes for passing the Steel wire through all the parts. The included STLs and drawing assuming 1.6mm steel wire and “space” so no post-processing drilling required.
Main_Body_Width (30 mm) - The width of the screwed/fixed part.
Felt_Thickness (1 mm) - Felt/insulation used to make the plexiglass airtight.
Plex_Thickness (3 mm) - Thickness of Plexiglass or any other panel material used for the sides
Tension_Bar_Depth (2 mm) - The higher the number, the tighter the hinge will close. I found that 2 mm is good for PLA and 2.5 mm for ASA printed hinges.
I used a soldering iron with a flat point to slightly melt the ends and close the holes, so the wires will not come out.
M3 8mm (Hex Bolts Stainless Steel)
From the file list below please pick the following 3 pieces per hinge.
Outer_Hinge
Main_Body
Choose one of the Mid_Hinge_???? which the Voron Logo displays correctly for the position of this hinge. For example, if it is placed on a vertical extrusion then decide either Mid_Hinge_Left or Mid_Hinge_Right depending on your preference.
