Description
For my filament storage, I changed to a book case. I was looking for a case with enough shelves. The shelves shouldn't be too wide. Most spools are 20cm diameter so the shelves should be that or slightly bigger.
The case I found has shelves of 60cm long by 23.5cm wide. 6 shelves. Horizontal available space is 56 cm so each shelve can hold 9 Sunlu spools for instance, that makes 54 spools in total.
Brand: Jysk
Model: Astrup with 6 shelves
Product number: 3650043
To prevent the filament rolls from rolling off I wanted to use ¾ electrical tubes so I created parts to hold them in place.
The designed parts can be placed on the sides of the shelves before connecting them to the frame. The printed parts are designed to stay in place without any extra screws/bolts/etc. The part can not move up or down because the shelve falls into a groove in the printed part. Left or right, front or backward movement is prevented by the metal vertical frame parts.
For each shelve you need to print 2 side parts.
Each shelve needs 2 58cm long ¾ PVC electrical tubes.
Additionally I added a part to place somewhere in the middle (or more if wanted/needed) if the tubes bend outwards because of the weight of the spools. These middle parts are designed to not touch the spools so the spools will rest only on the tubes, not the printed parts.
The side parts need to be printed with supports on the 4 tabs at the 2 ends.
