Costco (Whalen) Shelf Boots (floor protectors)

My mum bought some heavy duty (~40kg) shelving units form Costco for her pantry. These are Whalen branded- see the photos for the box design. The pantry floor is linoleum so if the vertical columns of were placed directly on the floor the metal would pierce/damage it. 3d Printer to the rescue!

I made both a single boot and a double boot so you can have the shelves standing alone or split and side-by-side. 

Printing & Supports

I printed using Polymaker Blue PETG at 0.3mm layer heights and 20% infill. 

No supports required. 

Build

Print it, fit the boots onto the bottoms of the shelving columns. You can adjust the inner part of the folded steel to get a good fit to the boot so it stays in place during shelf assembly.
