Description

⚠ : This 3D printed part requires post-processing to have a perfect fit between all parts due to the finer adjustments it requires.

This is a fully 3D-printable pencil design, inspired by the Diplomat model from Yard O Led. The design has been carefully optimized for FDM printing, and I recommend using the provided .3mf files rather than generating your own from the geometry. These files already include the correct orientations, tolerances, and slicer settings to ensure that the parts fit and function as intended. The settings are the same for all prints.

The strength of the pencil is good if you use a dry and good quality filament, even in PLA, but if you want better strength you can print the parts separately, however you have to pay attention to the settings.

Two size options are available: 8 mm and 9 mm. Both are functional, but the 8 mm version generally provides better balance and handling. There is also an additional variant featuring a decorative motif, offering a more detailed appearance for those who prefer a refined look.

As with most functional 3D-printed parts, post-processing is required. Sanding, smoothing, and finishing are recommended to achieve a clean surface finish and improve the overall feel of the pencil.

To assemble the pencil you must put the lead in the small part, then screw this part into the top of the pencil and finally align the small pins in the two small gutters of the body.

This project has been developed to provide a reliable and precise reproduction of a classic-style mechanical pencil, while still leaving space for customization.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks !
