Description
I wanted to relocate the license plate on our dump trailer. The original location causes the plate to get bent and rendered it almost impossible to see. In addition to attaching the plate at a new location, I also needed to include plate lighting for use at night.
I decided to use magnetic mounting that would also incorporate attachement of an LED plate light. Wiring would be extended from the original location to the new location, with consideration for the movement associated with both the trailer door and dump bed. The model presented was designed for use with 32x5mm cup magnets. It has mounting holes for a plate light with mounting holes 55m on center.
Print two copies of the model. Use a material that can stand up to UV and weather. I used ASA. Use a sufficient number of walls to allow the attaching screws to cut their own threads. I used 6 walls with a 0.6mm nozzle. The plate attaches to the models with M5 screws. The LED plate light modules attach with M3 screws. The magnets attached using their included mounting screws.
The plate lights I used, with 55mm spaced mounting holes, were these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GKHM8TP
The magnets used, 32mm x 5mm 100lb pull cup magnets, were these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08NDL48RK
