More than a Toy, this Japanese-style percussion and rhythm instrument is a fun way to explore your rhythm and timing skills with authentic pop-culture style.
All the materials used may already be in your workshop!
Standard 4mm PTFE tube and 1.75mm filament provide the smooth bowden controlled motion between control input and drumming arms - and springs often found in retractable pens!
Specially developed Motion Controller can be used in multiple ways to press, push or shake your to beat to the drum - without batteries or sensors! Multiple controllers can be coupled together, also across multiple devices for even more creative fun!
The built in drums that can be swopped out & rotated to provide different resonances dictated by the material thickness or infill to provide a “Knick-Knock” or “Clip-Clap” sound. Remove them completely to explore the sounds of house-hold objects!
The design uses predominantly M3 screws & Inserts for fixation to facilitate maintenance of the assembly and bowden controls. Full Step-by-Step instructions are provided in the attached PDFs to guide you.
