Sound Gift Card Box

Sound Gift Card Box is a creative gift box designed to hold a standard gift card (85.5 x 54 mm) while hiding an extra surprise inside: the ability to integrate a small audio module with a light sensor. When the box is opened, the sensor detects ambient light and instantly plays the sounds you’ve pre-recorded on the audio board.

This project was designed around the dimensions of this audio module (light sensor version):  link. It transforms a simple gift card into a double surprise—a fun and original experience to share with the recipient.

The box can be opened for easy maintenance: you can replace or recharge the internal batteries, update the audio files, and even adjust the output volume. A dedicated slot has been created to expose the light sensor, ensuring reliable activation, while a hidden drawer keeps the entire audio system out of sight with small openings for clear sound output.

Printing details:

• No supports or brims required
• 0.4 mm nozzle
• 0.2 mm layer height
• 15% infill
• 2 walls

The bow simply needs to be glued on, while a small printed pin prevents the box from opening accidentally. Most audio boards come with pre-applied double-sided tape, but you can also secure components with a little hot glue if needed.
