Updated version of the Nakatomi Advent Calendar. Some key additions/changes:
- Designed a helicopter (Bell UH-1 Iroquois) with rotor blades in the shape of a star for the top of the tower.
- Added mushroom cloud to top of building to attach the helicopter at an angle (cloud is reworked Cartoon Broccoli by Idee 3D)
- Rebuilt the base to insert an IKEA light (Kapplake LED)
- Base is a three-piece base with minimal supports needed for the middle portion. All three pieces sit within each other to easily take apart to turn on the light or replace as necessary.
- Created some windows to insert to the sides of the tower and printed in PETG (Translucent) filament so that the light gives a little ambiance. (Print 3 windows in whatever color combinations suit you)
- Reworked Hans so that he is falling head-first and readjusted the location of the hole on Tony to match.
- Date Sticks have been redesigned to look like Christmas light bulbs. Two versions have been provided – (1) one that would use the “z-hop” method so that the “back” of the stick has a stopper and (2) one that prints with the back flat so that you can do a color change on the front - because of this, the stopper is in the front. Now the sticks don't slide through and are a lot easier to align.
For simplicity, I glued star to the helicopter, the helicopter to the cloud, and cloud to the tower.
Note: this base and tower are interchangeable with the originals, so if you want a tower without the cloud on top but with a lit base or vise versa, you can do it. Same with the date sticks (which were printed in glow-in-the-dark filament for fun when the lights go out)
