I was made aware that some tripods don't have the screw hole. Therefore I mashed the hanger together with my tripod stiffener to allow it to be clamped between the legs of the tripod. Test the stability before hanging the scanner. I am not liable for any potential damage.
I wanted to be capable to “hang” the scanner on the tripod between scans. So I made use of the ¼ mounting point existing on the tripod and designed this hanger.
The scanner can be simply tilted on the hanger and a protective layer of TPU protects all contact points of the scanner to keep the finish of the carbon intact.
This is achieved with a TPU inlay on the hanger (optional) and TPU bumpers for the contact points with the tripod.
Different versions:
Either print the hanger (best PETG) and its paddings (TPU) with a printer like the H2D in place from the step file or print them separate and later glue them together with superglue.
Additionally print the tripod bumpers from TPU and attach them with zip-ties to the tripod as shown in the rendering.
When the ¼ screw and screw knob (best PETG) will be used press them together after adding a drop of superglue (keep an eye on the correct alignment of the screw). Thread the screw into the hanger and mount the hanger by screwing it tight.
Print the unibody hanger from PETG.
