Description
Some dimensions have been scaled for function.
This is a desktop sized model of a volcanic Pistol. It easily fits in your hand, the cocking arm can cock the hammer, and has a fully functioning trigger.
Items needed:
(2) 3mm bolt 12 - 16mm long
Hammer spring ½ to ¾ long. ¼ inch width or less.
Not needed but nice to have:
Trigger spring - I used a cut in half pen spring, any weak spring less than ½ inch long and less than ¼ inch wide will be fine.
Magazine spring - Any compression spring that is a 7/32. Needs to be about 3 inches long or a couple stacked end to end.
Building Instructions:
1. Barrel printing, Print either the short or long barrel. Then print the trunnion and fit them together. There is a solid barrel assembly if you prefer that instead.
2. Take the frame and fit the pieces together. You may need to drill or tap the holes to ensure the bolts will screw into the holes.
3. The hammer needs tp be added first. Slide the hammer spring into the frame and press the hammer down on top of it. Then line the holes up and screw in the bolt.
4. Next find the trigger and slide it in from the bottom. Then put a piece of filament into the hole and test to ensure the hammer catches properly on the trigger. Sand or file down to trigger to ensure it catches the hammer properly. Glue the filament in place when you are satisfied. The trigger should move freely.
5. Take the cocking arm and bolt, and combine them together. Then take the trigger spring and place it against the trigger inside the frame. Take the cocking arm assembly and slide it into the frame, making sure the trigger spring rests on the flat of the cocking arm. Then screw into place.
6. Slide the barrel trunnion onto the frame and test the function of the bolt moving back and forth. it should slide into the trunnion without issue. Once satisfied glue the trunnion into the frame. This is non reversible. So make sure you are happy with the function before gluing.
7. Attach the magazine slide and spring into the barrel if desired then attach the barrel to the trunnion.
