Description
Eye Buck for Vacuum forming his main Eye. NOTE: This model is for his eye lens. It is NOT the eye (shown in green in the photo.). I used .5mm clear PETG in a two stage vacuum-former at 150degrees C.
I used a good pair of scissors to cut out the part. Remove the part by cutting the "flat part of the plastic then carefully make a few thin circumference cuts. The Final Cut should be at the bottom of the small dots. I did two of the eyes at the same time and put a small item on the bed to prevent wrinkles. Plus, you will have a spare eye.
Spend plenty of time sanding it “glass” smooth. excessive layer lines will be reproduced in the eye if they are present.. Also, print in a low layer height. I used .1mm. I used 4 perimeters and 9 top layers with a 25% gyroid infill. I printed the bucks in PETG. I got dimpling on my PLA+ test piece because vacuum sucked so hard and the PLA got just malleable enough it actually created dimples where the infill had gaps underneath.
