UPDATE : A short version has been added more detail below

A short version for people that want it to be shorter. It has been shortened by 60mm in height. I also noticed that its dampening of X vibrations has been increased compared to the normal version. (Not confirmed for now need more test).

The final version of the other parts also has been added with the following step file if you want to make any modification. 

So with the arrival of QIDI's AMS  I decided it was time to create an AMS stand. There was 2 main issues :

  • The plus 4 is quite large compared to the qidibox which mean I have to make a full stand that will hold the AMS

  • I wanted to make a stand that was rigid but could still allow for top glass removal

I wasn't confident about a 3D printed bridge holding the box without creeping or breaking so i decided to make the top part with 2020 aluminium extrusions. The stand uses handles screw holes to be attached strongly to the frame. I didn't noticed any perturbation coming from the stand in the shaper graph.

BOM :

  • 16mm screws the size you prefer but the stock one is M4

  • T-nuts for 2020 aluminium extrusions that will go with the screws. ( ex : www.amazon.fr/dp/B0CJ2RQ235?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title )

  • 2x500mm 2020 aluminium extrusions ( ex : www.amazon.fr/dp/B09NRBZ8NC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title )

  • the stock screws are used for the rest

since the 3D printed are only separated from the chamber by a 3mm of metal I suggest going for heat resistant materials.
