Description
Only after one day of wife wearing a new pair of Birkenstock Birki Air shoes, the part that keeps the buckle attached to the shoe, it broke. It appears that the original design from factory had very little plastic keeping the peg from the buckle in-place. My design does not have the cutout, so hopefully will maintain strength and less likely to break or pop out.
I printed it in PETG to make sure we don't have too much heat-related issues and to give it a little bit of flexibility. Print it flat with the bottom on the bed, shouldn't need any support. I did 100% infill since I needed it to be strong since it was holding the plastic peg in place. I did 1.2mm layer height since its pretty small and needed the detail.
It should pop into the hole after removing the shoe sole, push the peg into the holder. It is pretty close to the original design, so should operate in a similar manner. I haven't tested pulling it out of the peg much, it may struggle more the original from factory (since I did not incorporate the cutout due to being the likely cause of the fault and a challenge to print with it being so small).
This is still being tested semi-daily (only been a day after putting into place when I posted this). I will make modifications if it ends up having issues. I recommend making spares just in-case the other factory holders for the peg break as well.
