Description
A simple & practical protractor & compass providing a full 360° of use. Useful for measuring or drawing circles, arcs & lengths in ½ centimeter increments. It's size & ruggedness makes it Ideal for woodworking or metal work. The bottom & top parts just snap together and the Vernier dial provides a ½° measurement accuracy. It measures approximately 300mm in length when both arms are fully extended.
To use as a compass, secure it from the center hole (at the bullseye) with a small nail or pin, then determine which size circle you want by placing a pencil in one of the holes located along one of the ruler edges. Mark your object by rotating the pencil around the center to create a circle or a specific arc.
The top & bottom parts have deboss (engraved) text. For those who prefer printing the text in a different color, separate parts are also provided. The debossed prototype shown in the photos was printed in ABS using a 0.6mm HF nozzle, with a 0.2mm layer height & 20% infill. The filament color was changed at a specific layer height to highlight the text. You may achieve higher detail on the text if you use a 0.4mm nozzle & print the text separately overtop the main debossed parts.
