Latest upgrade.... beast model
slightly different model
Stronger chassis, nicer exhausts, simpler fairing, should look better after supports have been removed
Yay!
here is an upgrade for people with a single extruder.... (removable wheels)
Ha! With removable wheels it is much easier to remove the supports than before....
now you can make the wheel hubs and tyres a different colour also the body....
I also included a test shaft so you can be certain the the hubs will fit before assembling them on the quad.this should stop any damage to the model if they are a bit tight....
if the hub is a bit tight in the tyre.... get it started then lay it on the carpet and tread on it,then it snaps in nicely.........
original description
here is a quad bike that I generated from a photograph using meshy…
I have refined and repaired the mesh and it is solid.
warning….. I used at least 50% infill for strength of the thin parts but the big gamble is how much support to use… too little and the model will collapse during printing or too much and it is really difficult to remove the supports….
I used tree (organic) support with 15% overhang thresh hold and the support for one side of the handlebars collapsed but my printer recovered it… but man it was tedious removing the supports without destroying the model.
it is a gamble with 15% but you will regret it if you use more, when you come remove the supports….
it is a super model and if you have a colour printer it would look awesome!
