The Ring – Modular Mounting Ring for The Connector V1.3 System

The Ring is basically the connector geometry without a fixed hose or pipe socket.

Instead of a hose connection, this version has special mounting holes that can be used either with M3 screws and nuts or with 3.5 mm wood screws / Spax screws.

What It Is Used For

The Ring is designed as a reusable mounting interface for future modules and upgrades.

It can be mounted to other printed parts, panels or DIY components and allows them to use the same bayonet connector system as The Connector V1.3.

Possible uses include:

• mounting to custom adapters

• Y-splitters

• T-splitters

• reducers

• throttle valves / dampers

• filter modules

• wall or panel pass-throughs

• other future airflow modules

Reusable Modular Design

The main advantage is that The Ring does not need to be permanently integrated into every model.

For example, a Y-splitter can be printed without fixed connector rings. After printing, matching rings in the required sizes can be screwed onto the Y-splitter.

If you later decide to use another module, such as a T-splitter, the rings can simply be unscrewed and reused.

This makes the system more flexible, easier to modify and more material-efficient.

Seal for Rough Surfaces

A special seal for The Ring is also provided for rough or uneven surfaces.

This seal can help compensate for small surface imperfections and improve the fit between The Ring and the mounting surface.

If needed, the seal can be scaled in the slicer along the Z axis to create a thicker version. A thicker seal is more flexible and can be useful for very rough or uneven surfaces.

Tent and Wall Pass-Through

The Ring can also be used as a simple tent or wall pass-through.

However, especially for grow tents or fabric surfaces, The Flange is recommended because it provides a cleaner and more stable mounting solution.

Compatibility

The Ring uses the same geometry as The Connector V1.3 and is intended to be combined with future upgrades and add-on modules from the same system.
