Description
This is a design used to store developed 35mm photographic film. My film development lab charges extra to have film cut into strips, so I opted to keep them as uncut rolls. This design allows me to securely store and organize the film so I can find it in the future should I need to scan the negatives.
The main winder design has slots in the center to feed the end of the roll into, and then using the winder lid design you can wind the remaining film onto the roll and tuck in the end. There is also a 8 roll storage container than has a Gridfinity bottom so it is compatible with any existing Gridfinity storage system you may have! Each roll has a space on the front for a label - I simply used 1" wide green painters tape for simplicity!
The gridfinity case shown in the photos is this design by @unrepentantgeek. Its a great design that I love for this purpose!
Printing tips:
I used PLA in 0.2mm layer height, with 2-3 perimeters. Print orientation should be correct when dowloaded, but should be such that the concentric circles print vertically up from the print bed. You will need to print the Winder Lid separately, and then use super glue to attach to the center axle.
Please share photos and feedback if you decide to print this! I am planning to update this with a 120mm film option as well!
