Description
I re-implemented the idea of Blue to see if I could cover more of the gap, and as I was messing around with the dimensions, I found this geometry, which fits so perfectly that it snaps into place without the need for magnets or any other fasteners. It also covers the gap slightly better.
To mount the plug, simply align the piece in the corner as shown in the picture and apply gentle pressure until it snaps into place. I printed in Prusament PETG Galaxy Black because it matches the body of the printer really well.
Core One L
I don't own a Core One L myself, but it has been reported that they also fit nicely on the Core One L.
Use as a corner mount:
It works well as a corner plug, but the fit is so strong that I think it would even serve as a solid base for e.g. a webcam mount. You can do that in two ways:
1) With an M3 nut and screw:
I have made a version with a slot for an M3 nut and a hole for an M3 screw. Feel free to use it to install webcams, extra lights, or whatever. The screw will go 10mm into the mount, so in your designs, make sure to use a screw that leaves those 10mm.
2) Edit the CAD directly and use the geometry directly in your design:
I encourage you to modify the design and reuse the geometry. You can find the original CAD model at the following Onshape link: Link here
Enjoy!
