Description
I have various old notebooks lying around which I want to keep. However - LiIon batteries get dangerous to keep after some years of non use (or even used). So if you do the math on how many batteries you might have in your home, you either have to constantly use them and/or control them. But who does?
So - I want to keep some of my fancy old relics, but I do not need the batteries anymore. Great! Leave them out! But that doesn't work as there is a foot in them…
So I created a replacement “dummy” battery, and here is one for the Dell Inspiron and XPS series.
According to Google it's compatible with at least: Inspiron 6000, 9200, 9300, 9400, and E1705, as well as the XPS M170 and XPS Gen 2.
I printed the battery in PLA, 15% infill and the foot in TPU. Press the foot in, it'll not fall out.
