Edit: I don't normally do this but the way that they're posed together just seemed like the one was shouting something at the other. So I had to make a speech bubble discussion between them and this exchange is the first thing that came to mind. Charming creatures.
Large models are fun. You get so much more freedom with detail since all the small things will appear.
This Aquatic troll was a lot of fun - I chose it because it's called for in Rise of Tiamat and it's another that I couldn't find on the modelling sites. It's another model where I used AI but this time I went back to using the displace modifier to bring in the textured skin. For resin printers I think this will pop quite a bit more. For FDM it could also but you'll need to use very low and slow print settings.
The AI base model was mostly OK but it didn't have any teeth and the back spines and tail weren't quite right so I did a fair bit of touch ups there. There were a number of other spots that I went over with the crease tool.
For posing I did my usual one leg forward, one leg back, I twisted the tail so it connects to the leg. I had a heckuva time with the chin and jaw so I ended up starting with a closed mouth version first. I really wanted a screeching / biting one too tho I had a second armature to get that working and then manually reposed the teeth (although probably could have tried attaching them to the same armature idk).
That's it for this aquatic troll.
I'm on a quest to make 1000 dnd models in 2025 and you can join me on Thingiverse, Printables, Cults3d or see my weekly updates on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/c/Adamnant (as well as get codes for exclusive downloads on Cults3d). I'm focusing on models that don't seem to exist on Printables / Thingiverse and are listed in campaigns. If you have something that you need let me know and I can add it to my list.
