Description
I bought some new brushes for different types of creases today. It's probably my most used tool so I'm happy to have some variety and while I think it'll take some getting used to I'm happy with the results so far beyond just crease and crease sharp. Often I find I wanted a deeper valley or flatter trench in the crease and I think these new brushes are helping with that quite a bit.
To test out these brushes today I worked on this Angry Sorrowsworn. I ended up with more of a surprised/scared look like someone turned the lights on him (them?) but that seems appropriate - "he's (they're??) just as scared of you as you are of them" seems to fit really well here - the flavor text on these fellows reads "The Shadowfell's pervasive melancholy sometimes gives rise to strange incarnations of the plane's bleak nature. Sorrowsworn embody the forms of suffering inherent to the shadowy landscape and visit horror on those who stumble into their midst. Each sorrowsworn personifies a different aspect of despair or distress".
Like my other models I started with some AI output and it was mostly good but I did need to rig it to adjust posture and then of course sculpted a ton of the skin folds, manicured the toenails, enhanced the buttocks etc.... etc... The way my renders are setup you can usually see my sculpting from the darker etchd in areas - the material darkens variation like that. Beyond that sculpting a I added the usual eyes and teeth and then slapped em onto a baseplate. I made a few renders to show off how it looks and included some shots from blender (including the one with the AI materials which I don't usually do).
I'm looking forward to printing one of these out - as a Shadowfell creature it'll fit nicely into my Curse of Strahd campaign (although I'll have to tweak the statblock to lower the CR).
There are other Sorrowsworns around on the printing sites but I think this is the first Angry Sorrowsworn so I'm happy to have added it. Definltely check out some of the ones made by Yasashi here:
That's it for now!
I'm on a quest to make 1000 dnd models in 2025 and you can join me on Thingiverse, Printables, Cults3d or see my weekly updates on Patreon here: https://www.patreon.com/c/Adamnant (as well as get codes for exclusive downloads on Cults3d). I'm focusing on models that don't seem to exist on Printables / Thingiverse and are listed in campaigns. If you have something that you need let me know and I can add it to my list.
