Sturdy Wall Hook

I was in need of some sturdy wall hooks for our entry and so I decided to whip some up. Two styles are included - one with an angled finish (RevA) and one more rounded. The rounded version requires support on both hook ends, as they taper away from the build plate. The angular version requires support only on the upper, longer hook section. I included a file option that has an ear fixed to the bottom hook section to improve bed adhesion since no support structure is required there. On either style - I did not find that a brim was necessary due to the part geometry and the fact that supports help to increase the bed contact area.

The hooks were printed in PETG with 4 perimeters, 0.2mm layer height, 0.4mm nozzle. PLA can be used, but it is typically more brittle and tends to have a memory and can deform over time with repeated use. ABS/ASA or PC would likely work fine.

For the supports on PETG - I did up the Z contact distance to 0.3mm and the supports were able to do their jobs and while still being able to be pulled away without much trouble.

Standard wood screws were used to secure the hook to the wall studs. I would recommend fasteners with a smooth upper shank so the hook can be effectively pulled tight to the wall. Anchors can be used, just keep in mind the rating for weight capacity.
