Description
This is my remix of the awesome silica gel holder originally designed by @R985_3546396. His model works great and fits perfectly in the Qidi Box — but after printing it, I noticed the holes were a bit too large for my silica beads. A lot of them ended up escaping and rolling all over the floor… not ideal 😅
So, I decided to tweak the design to better suit my needs. I made the holes smaller and created three different versions, each with a unique hole orientation — vertical, horizontal, and angled — so you can choose the one that works best for your setup. All of them hold the silica beads securely while still allowing good airflow through the bin.
I also made sure that the top cap from @GoodHope_2454961 still fits perfectly on top, so everything stays compatible and neat.
As seen in the pictures, the horizontal-hole version doesn’t print quite as cleanly as the vertical one, but honestly, it’s got its own rough charm — and since these bins just sit inside the box doing their job, looks aren’t the main concern here.
If you’ve had issues with silica falling out of the original holder, this remix should fix that problem nicely. More control, less mess, and still fully compatible with the existing parts — just print, fill, and forget about it.
A quick tip if you want the one that prints the fastest it is the one with the horizontal holes (The first file)
Print Notes:
For best results, print the parts in the same orientation as shown in the pictures (upright, with the open top facing up).
This ensures you don’t need any supports — all overhangs are designed to be printable as-is.
I recommend using high-temperature filament such as ABS or ASA, just like in the original design, to handle the warm environment inside the Qidi Box without warping.
