Description
This is a booster for a heating radiator because the forced airflow increases the efficiency of the radiator and more heat can be transferred to the surrounding air. (NOTE: If you have a heating energy measurement device sticking on the radiator, the usage of a booster is illegal in Germany). We use the booster in our living room and in our bedroom because both radiators have furniture next to them. The booster is designed to be placed on the floor, so if not running nothing influences the natural convection. If you want you can add an standard fan cover or dust filter.
I used standard 5x10 fan screws to fix the connection plates (e.g. fan screws).
To connect all 5 fans you may use a splitter like this PWM Fan Hub 1 To 5 Way or this https://ebay.us/m/rrB50G .
My plan is to add an temperature switch (arduino or a temperature control pcb) so that the fan is only running if needed.
I used 140mm fans P14 from Arctic. They are very silent and start spinning at 2.1V. If supplied with a 5V USB PSU they are nearly not audible. https://www.arctic.de/P14/ACFAN00123A
This is sill under development :)
