Description
Requirements:
1x 30x40x7mm bearing (3040H7-2RS)
Optional: A small amount of glue (for securing parts)
The bearing ensures smooth rotation, so don't skip it! You can optionally remove the plastic dust seals from the bearing to reduce friction and improve spin.
This design is split into separate components, which should already be correctly oriented for slicing. Here's how to print each part:
Needs a high infill – the more weight, the better for stability.
This is where the bearing will sit, so ensure it's printed solid and strong.
Print upright. Maybe add a brim.
Use around 3–4 walls and 15% infill.
It’s designed to be lightweight and balanced.
Also benefits from higher infill – added weight helps with spin momentum.
Print as oriented.
Refer to the attached images for assembly order. Here's a quick breakdown:
Spindle + Top Plate
Insert the spindle into the top plate from underneath. A drop of glue here will secure it firmly. Do a dry fit first!
Base Plate + Bearing
Press the bearing into the center hole of the base plate. Use glue if the fit is loose. It should be snug though.
Final Assembly
Insert the spindle/top plate unit into the bearing seated in the base. Add glue if needed for a snug fit.
Once assembled, you’ll have a smooth-spinning, balanced spindle ready for use!
