I designed this tool, to assist in fabricating ethernet cables.
It maintains wire formation, in preparation for insertion into the RJ45 Jack.
It also assists in precisely cutting wires to (13mm) the correct length..
- Strip off about an inch of outer shield.
- Snip off any exposed string or divider.
- Fan out and straighten wires, then sequence wires according to T568B (or if preferred T568A) wiring chart.
- Â
- Keeping wires sequenced and in alignment, insert them fully into tool.
- Â
- Verify wires remained in correct sequence, then firmly press cable into tool, to form wires..
- Â
- Cut wire ends uniformly across end of tool. (equates to 13mm length)
- Gently remove wires from tool
- Â Fully insert wires and a section of the outer shield into RJ45 connector.
- Ensuring wires are at the end of the connector and a portion of the outer shield is fully seated, crimp connector.
Straight Cables are wired according to either T568A or T568B. (Equivalent performance) Both ends must be wired the same.
Crossover Cables use T568A on one end and T568B on the other.
