Description
This is a replacement threaded collar ring for low-cost soldering irons — specifically, the fragile plastic part that often breaks between the handle and the heating element (see highlighted area in the photo).
After mine snapped, I couldn’t find any spare parts online, so I designed and printed this fix myself.
It works great and snaps on like the original.
🔧 What’s included:
🧱 .STL file ready to print
✏ Fusion 360 .f3d file for easy editing
→ You can modify the thread diameter to match your soldering iron model.
✅ Features:
Same external shape and function as the original ring
Print-friendly geometry (no supports needed)
Internal thread customizable in Fusion
Fits many common soldering irons sold under different brand names
💡 Why this matters:
Cheap soldering irons often have non-replaceable plastic rings that snap under heat or pressure. This simple 3D-printed part lets you extend the life of your iron instead of throwing it away.
Even if your ring isn't broken yet, you might want to print a spare!
🖨 Recommended settings:
Material: PETG or ABS (for better heat resistance)
Layer height: 0.2 mm
Infill: 100% or 50% with walls ≥3
No supports needed
⚠ Note: Check the thread before printing. If it doesn't fit your soldering iron, you can easily adjust the thread in Fusion using the included .f3d file.
