Description
I generally don't like attaching things permanently to walls if I don't have to.
This simple wall mount allows me to securely mount a small motion sensor to a wall corner with blu-tack (or a similar product) in a way that's easy to remove if need be.
Just print it out, slide the wall mount plate into the slot, put some blu-tack on the rear diagonals, and push it into the corner. You will still have the full adjustability from the wall mount pivot to rotate and swivel the sensor as required. It's also pretty easy to take it off again and move it to a new position if you change your mind about where it needs to be.
The sensor is very light, and a thumbnail sized blob of blu-tack on each side is more than enough to hold it securely the wall; I've had several of them up for a good couple of months now without any issues.
Update: I've added a “long” version because I did have one fall off the wall after about 4 months - the extra length allows for a bit more blue-tac, and works a bit better in terms of how the weight of the sensor might lever the mount off the wall.
The plate slides in and out of the slot reasonably easily (it's snug, but not a tight fit); when you need to change the batteries it's simple to slide it out and take it down to work with, and then just slide it back in again (easier than it would be if you screwed it into the wall, in my humble opinion). Because it's blu-tack you could also pull the whole thing off the wall if you wanted to.
It fits a particular product, so check that it's the same one you have - check the images and search AliExpress for something like “Smart Zigbee Human Presence Sensor 24G MmWave Radar +PIR, Luminance detection”.
There's nothing tricky about the print - no supports are needed, and PLA is fine. For what it's worth, I printed these in 0.2mm layers with 10% gyroid pattern infill.
