Description
I needed this battery adapter so I could charge other 18650s individually, although they were part of a bigger pack I didn't want to disassemble. So I put this fake battery in the charger, and then wire the leads to a specific battery in the pack. Care must be taken to disconnect the BMS or the first/last cell to ensure the charger's algorithm only “sees” that one cell.
Another application is when you have something that takes a 18650, but you want to power it externally with a wall-wart transformer. If you had multiple 18650's in series, you could make some more of these dummy cells just to take up the space, and then one with actual wires to power the device. For example:
Qty. 2 of 18650 is about 7.4vDC…
| ------------ dummy cell 1 ---------- | | ------------ dummy cell 2 ---------- |
| ← power + wire .. power - wire → | | ----------- wire strait thru --------- |
…so you could use a 7.5vDC wall-wart and run the device
