Description
Just another 3d printed “fabric” this one has a small unique feature. Pieces can be printed connected together (print-in-place) but also can be connected together after printing (snap-fit) - so you can mix colors, make the fabric extremally long and fix broken pieces. Another nice feature is that the fabric shows clean hexagons on both sides of the print. It's not very flexible - i think that the bending radius is about 10cm. This is just a proof of concept - It was fun to project and maybe I will improve this design in the future.
The design works as snap-fit but after several connect-disconnect rounds the joint is pretty loose and can disconnect on its own. So maybe the best way is to use it as print-in-place with a possibility to connect several printed parts together
two perimeters should be enough. no need to add any infill - just add one more layer on top. I've printed mine with PETG-CF. PLA should work, but I prefer PETG, because it's less brittle and layer bonds are stronger.
