Description

This case mod allows you to add 4 additional drives. It uses the standard Jonsbo 4 disk backplane found on the N4 and N5 case series. It can be easily purchased from many stores on Aliexpress.

There is enough room for a standard thickness 140mm fan attached to the front panel. In my case I use a Noctua NF-A14x25 G2. The mount presses firmly up against the included rubber gasket on the fan. But would have a 1-2mm gap between if your fan lacks one.

This mod should be compatible with any standard MATX and ATX motherboards. Though I would check to make sure your motherboard does not have any important connections on the edge against the mount. You would likely not be able to plug anything in.

The base part has a height of 7mm to match the stock case standoffs, it is designed to take the place of 2 motherboard screw locations, with the base bolting into the case at 4 locations.

I would strongly advise against using any low temperature resitant plastics such as PLA. Probably also avoid PETG due to its ductility (the mount is only supported at each end). Anything that produces a very stiff final part should work great, I went with an ABS-GF blend.

This mod makes extensive use of M3 heat set inserts. If the printed hole is ~5mm then add an insert. I suggest also referencing the included CAD assembly file.

The case spacer provides additional support to the top of the mount, screwing in to the fan mounting points with stock fan screws.

I recommend using low profile flat or button head bolts for attaching the backplane PCB to the base mount. I went with 1mm flat heads.

The unused mounting points on the parts are for future additional upgrades.
