Description
A Meshmixer remix of Sneq's more detailed octopus phone stand that has pockets for 8mm x3mm disc magnets. Now it stays put on my metal bedside table.
These should work: https://www.amazon.com/Refrigerator-Magnets-Premium-Brushed-AULife/dp/B073RVQHKT/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1509127216&sr=8-6&keywords=disc+magnets+8+3
Filaments in the pic with 4 octostands, clockwise front top left: Hatchbox Glow PLA (stringy!), Atomic Sapphire Blue PETG, Atomic Carbon Fiber PETG (my favorite filament), and Filamentum's Extrafill Vertigo Grey (great at hiding layer lines)

Rafts:
No
Supports:
Yes
Resolution:
0.2
Infill:
20% Honeycomb or Solid for strength
Notes:
Honeycomb in fill (Slic3r) looks good when printed with a translucent filament (Atomic Blue PETG in the photo). Otherwise, I like to print at 50% or even 100% solid.
Insert magnets in pockets on bottom. They should be a press fit, but you may need a little bit of cyanocrylate glue to secure them. I had to Dremel them out a little bit.
Pulled the stl into meshmixer and inserted the pockets.
