Description
These handles consist of three parts - the printed ends and a 12 - 12.7mm diameter rod or dowel to make the pull.
The printed ends have two hole locations for added flexibility (more on that below) and I have published two options - one ready for M3 threaded inserts, and the other ready to thread an M3 bolt in directly - please note if you choose to thread directly - do not over-tighten!
If you choose the threaded insert option, you may wish to print the jig which will hold the base square and parallel to the table while making the insert. My Drill Press Insert Adapter model may also be of use.
As shown the handles have 12.7mm dowel 130mm long. This gives and overall width of 145mm, with the inner holes a cabinet standard 96mm apart and the outer holes 128mm.
I did this because I have several existing cabinets and I wanted to standardise the handle appearance, but it does give great flexibility, and if a longer handle is required, gives the opportunity to use double fixings.
Mine are printed in Prusament Galaxy Silver PLA, sliced at 0.2mm “BALANCED” in Prusa Slicer. No supports are necessary - the small amount of bridging distortion in the holes is not a problem for assembly.
