Description
I was inspired by North Indian Bansuri Style Flutes and decided to try my hand at designing my own. This transverse flute features a comfortable mouthpiece and sleek minimalist design. The design was intended to be an E bansuri, but when I tried to test it I found it to be a little flat. As with any handmade flute, it may require tuning. Scale up to move holes further apart or down to bring them together or shave the holes as needed to fine tune the flute. The flute will play just fine as printed but may not be perfectly tuned right off the plate your first try. It is recommended to use a brim and print in fine detail of 0.16mm layer height or better. Use snug supports for the fingerhole end and tree support for the mouthpiece end and add a brim for best results. The flute uses a very small area on the build plate and bed adhesion can be problematic if you don't have a well-tuned printer. Glue may be required for reliable printing.
***Files added with 3-piece improved joints and also a version with enlarged bore of 22mm ID, also with 3-piece improved joints.
