🖨 K1 Max Detailed Print Settings — Cannabis Leaf Ashtray
Material: PLA (recommended for crisp detail and minimal warping)
Nozzle Diameter: 0.4 mm
Color: Matte or silk PLA (matte hides layer lines better)
Layer Height: 0.20 mm (great balance of quality and speed)
(For ultra-smooth surface: 0.16 mm)
Top/Bottom Layers: 4 top / 4 bottom
Perimeters (Walls): 3
Seam: Aligned to back or sharp corner of a leaf (to keep visible areas clean)
Adaptive Layers: ON (if available) — smooths out curves on the leaf tips.
Infill Density: 15–20%
Infill Pattern: Gyroid or Grid (Gyroid gives better strength & even ashtray base)
Top Surface Pattern: Concentric (for that clean, smooth leaf center look)
Nozzle Temp: 205 °C (PLA)
PETG: 230 °C
ABS: 240 °C
Bed Temp: 60 °C (PLA)
PETG: 70 °C
ABS: 100 °C
Chamber Temp: 0 °C (PLA), optional warm enclosure for ABS
Fan: 100% after first 2 layers (PLA)
For PETG: start at 50–60% after 3rd layer.
For ABS: off or minimal to prevent warping.
Adhesion Type: Skirt (2 loops, 5 mm distance)
Brim: Optional (5 mm) if you notice lifting on the leaf tips.
Supports: ❌ None needed (model is flat with upward cone).
Print Speed: 100 mm/s (K1 Max default high-speed)
For best surface finish: reduce outer wall speed to 40–50 mm/s
Inner wall speed: 80 mm/s
Infill speed: 100 mm/s
Acceleration: 5000 mm/s²
Retraction Distance: 0.8 mm
Retraction Speed: 35 mm/s
Combing: Within Infill (prevents visible travel scars)
Enable “Ironing Top Layers” for a glassy smooth top.
Set Top Surface Flow to ~98% to prevent over-extrusion buildup.
Lower Outer Wall Flow to 98% as well for super crisp edges.
Enable “Z hop” on retraction (0.2 mm) to reduce nozzle drag across the leaf tips.
Use a 0.25 mm or 0.4 mm nozzle if you want maximum tip detail.
Lightly sand with 400–600 grit sandpaper if you want a buttery smooth top.
Optional clear coat or matte sealer to protect from burn marks or resin stains.
✅ Why this works:
Thicker walls = more durability for ashtray use.
Lower outer wall speed = cleaner leaf detail.
High cooling = sharp tips & crisp cone.
Ironing = smooth top center surface.
