Description
This model is a revised and fixed version. The following modifications were made:
1) The height of the screen window hole has been adjusted. The screen is now fully visible.
2) The hole for the micro-USB cable has been widened. I tested it with several cables - they connect without any problems.
3) Three separate button parts have been assembled into a single piece, with a pin added to the case for quick assembly and secure installation of the buttons.
4) The height of the "Reset" button has been reduced, while the other two buttons have been increased. Pressing the button is now more comfortable, eliminating accidental pressing of the "Reset" button.
5) The optimal height of the PCB stands was selected for precise button operation.
6) The PCB mount was increased in height.
7) The cover lid was redesigned - a flange has been added.
8) The cover lid mount has been changed from top to side. Mounting is via five M2x5 countersunk screws.
7) The version with indicators output to the front panel has been added. 0.75 mm fishing line is used as the light-guides.
Assembly of the LED-indicators version:
1) Using a 1/4"-20 tap, cut a tripod thread in the bottom hole of the housing.
2) Try on the light-guide holder and file it down if necessary. Check the channel clearance in the holder and the holes in the housing - the light-guides should not be inserted too tightly. Drill if necessary.
3) Install the buttons.
4) Install the LILYGO T-BEAM V1.2 with the battery and turn off the board using the menu in the Metastatic app.
5) Install the light-guide holder.
6) Insert the light-guide into the bottom hole on the front wall of the housing and push it through the housing and holder until it rests against the LED on the board. Adjust the position of the light-guide with a toothpick if necessary. Install the upper light-guide in the same way.
7) Turn on the board by pressing the "power" button (leftmost).
8) Check for red and blue light at the ends of the light-guides. Adjust the position if necessary. Do not trim the light-guides until you get bright light at the ends!
9) Trim the light-guides with a razor blade or utility knife, flush with the front panel of the case.
10) DO NOT GLUE the light-guides! Otherwise, if you need to disassemble the case, you'll have to break the case.
11) Install the top cover. Secure with M2x5 screws.
